First time staying at this inn. It immediately felt warm and welcoming. It was wonderful to see all the beautiful collections and artifacts. The icing was meeting the owner, John. He made us feel like family. He is caring and incredibly attentive. He is also an amazing cook!

John, our host was exceptional. He was very welcoming, and made us feel like we were old friends. His home is full of wonderful antiques, each with their own story. Breakfast was delicious! We had a memorable stay.

A quiet and comfortable B&B located minutes from downtown Troy. The owner whipped up a fantastic breakfast, served on the patio. A nice alternative to the usual business accommodations.

John, the owner, makes it feel like you're staying with family! The room was wonderful, the breakfasts were stellar, and... he has doggies!!!(I love dogs) The bed was so comfortable that I slept as well or better than I do at home. I travel a good bit and this is by far my favorite place that I've stayed.

Super clean and smells wonderful (as someone sensitive to those things). Everything the other reviews say about John the host are true - he is a magical person and he went above and beyond for us! The house itself and the way John decorated it is so memorable and lovely. And as a diehard dog lover, his greyhounds were the cherry on top. Oh, and the breakfast will not disappoint!!!!!! I also loved that the house welcomes LGBTQ couples!

John, the owner, cares about his guests. His inn is full of fascinating historic collections. My room featured a collection of detective novels pre 1930s. Breakfast was super delish-lemon custard filled French toast! I had a great time as he invited his guests to a glass of wine and we all got talking, sitting on the lawn in the soft evening.

John was a wonderful host - at a time when cold weather limits outdoor dining, he suggested we order dinner in and made socially distanced table arrangements in the large dining room so we could enjoy our meal. Not only that, he poured us wine, and we all could chat and enjoy some company. We would go back, for no other reason than to visit this marvelous inn with its storied past and friendly proprieter.

The property was well designed outside and well decorated inside. It was very warm and welcoming! It felt like home. We stayed in the bridal suite which was beautiful and we took our photos getting ready for my wedding there. John was an incredible host making us feel extremely comfortable and relaxed. He was extremely attentive and responsive from the first email through check out. John is quite the chef providing an amazing breakfast every day! We highly recommend staying at Gardner Farm Inn.
